‘Mirror’ is the generic name which refers to two city specific English language newspapers that are published from the cities of Mumbai and Bangalore. Both of these newspapers are respectively branded as Mumbai Mirror and Bangalore Mirror and are well loved in the cities they are published in.
Mumbai Mirror and Bangalore Mirror are both owned and published by Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd., which is a renowned media company more popularly known as The Times Group. Being published by such a highly reputed media brand, it goes without saying that these two newspapers are regarded as reliable and trustworthy sources of all the latest news stories by residents of the two newspapers’ respective cities.
Both Mumbai Mirror and Bangalore Mirror are immensely popular among readers, and this makes them highly favoured by advertisers for getting their brand messages to their respective audiences. Needless to say, the best Mirror ad rates are highly sought after!
Let’s take a closer look at both these newspapers.
Mumbai Mirror is an English language newspaper that is based in Mumbai. Mumbai Mirror was originally launched as a daily newspaper in the year 2005 but was made into a weekly newspaper in December 2020 after being published as a daily newspaper for 15 years. Even though Mumbai Mirror is not published daily any longer, it still remains an icon of English language news journalism in Mumbai. Prior to becoming a weekly newspaper, Mumbai Mirror had more than 7,00,000 copies in circulation daily.
Bangalore Mirror is an English language newspaper that is based in Bangalore. Bangalore Mirror was originally launched as Vijay Times. Launched by Vijayananda Printers in the year 2002, the newspaper was taken over by Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. in the year 2006. Vijay Times was rebranded and relaunched as Bangalore Mirror in the year 2007. As of today, Bangalore Mirror is one of the most widely read English language newspapers in Bangalore.
Interestingly, Mumbai Mirror and Bangalore Mirror are both different types of newspapers. Mumbai Mirror is a tabloid newspaper and Bangalore Mirror is a compact newspaper. Even though neither is a broadsheet newspaper, both of them pack in a generous amount of information, stories and articles within their pages.
